Witkowo is proud of its rich history and traditions reflected in many local landmarks and buildings. Perhaps the most remarkable are: beautiful palaces and manor houses in Kołaczkowo, Jaworowo and Królewiec, over 100-year-old tenement houses surrounding the town marketplace, parish churches like Saint Nicolas Church in Witkowo, All Saints Church in Mielżyn or Saint Martin Church in Ostrowite Prymasowskie and former courthouse and windmill in Witkowo.
One of the most popular attractions of the region is a narrow-gauge railway built in 1896 to transport people and commodities. To get to grips with the landscape, dozens of visitors every year take the romantic railway trip. Each corner turned uncovers more charming views and remarkable adventures.
The town and villages appreciate the works of past generations and endeavour to maintain their traditions. In 2006, on the initiative of the local authorities, Witkowo Hall of History was founded. It is devoted to the history of the region and it houses a fascinating display of relics, photographs and memorabilia.
